Mahesh Kuniyil

Mahesh Kuniyil is a researcher in wood science and biomaterials with a strong interest in sustainable material solutions. His work at the Bioglue Center, Uppsala, focuses on Bond Strength of Bio-Adhesives, where he investigates the interactions between adhesives and lignocellulosic substrates, including penetration, interphase formation, and failure mechanisms. These studies are central to improving the reliability and long-term performance of bio-based bonding systems and contribute to both scientific understanding and industrial applications in wood and composite products.
Beyond the technical focus, Mahesh is driven by a commitment to renewable resources and circular economy principles. He views bio-based adhesives as a pathway to reducing dependence on fossil-based materials and enabling greener production processes. His motivation comes from bridging science with practice, creating knowledge that not only advances research but also supports industries in developing sustainable alternatives for the future.
