Presentation
My research examines the forest conditions influencing population dynamics of the spruce bark beetle (Ips typographus) across spatial scales. In addition, I am involved in several projects related to forest and wetland restoration (rewetting), with an emphasis on understanding their implications for forest pests, biodiversity conservation, and pathogen prevalence in amphibians. My current main research areas include bark beetle outbreak dynamics, the role of protected areas in shaping these dynamics, and the effects of infestations on forest biodiversity.
Research
Dynamics of spruce bark beetle outbreaks and their potential links to protected forest areas
Effects of forest rewetting on spruce bark beetles and tree defense mechanisms
Landscape-level drivers of forest biodiversity
Implications of translocations of the pool frog (Pelophylax lessonae) in Sweden
Distribution of the chytrid fungus (Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis) in Nordic amphibians
National and global distribution of Snake Fungal Disease (Ophidiomyces ophidiicola)
Forest restoration in Borneo and its effects on amphibian communities and insect assemblages
Environment analysis
FoMA – Efficient monitoring of the spruce bark beetle with new digital traps
