Presentation

I am Associate professor in silviculture focusing on forest growth and yield, and especially alternative forestry like the selection system.

Research

My research has mainly focused on stand dynamics of uneven-aged forests, selection system and single-tree selection, but has also included other kinds of alternative forestry. I have also spent some time on trying to incorporate biomechanics in studies of tree growth, i.e how windsway affects tree growth.

Selected publications

In 2023 I published a practical manual for using the selection system in forestry, in Swedish. It will be published in English during 2025.
The manual describes the natural dynamics of full-storied Norway spruce forests and how you should think if you want to manage it with single-tree selection. It gives a brief overview of other alternative ways to manage your forest and some advice if you want to transform your forest from single-storied managed with rotation forestry system to full-storied managed with selection system and single-tree selection.
