Background/Education:

  • BSc in Molecular Biosciences (Heidelberg University, Germany)
  • MSc in Molecular Biosciences, Major in Ecology and Evolution (Heidelberg University, Germany)
  • PhD in In Vitro Toxicology (SLU Uppsala, Sweden)

Research

In terms of research, my work focuses on the development of novel toxicological in vitro test systems within the context of “Tox21” (toxicology testing in the 21st century). In particular, I deal with the establishment of reporter gene assays for toxicity pathways of emerging interest via classical or CrisprCas-mediated transgenesis. Furthermore, my work includes the development and addition of biotransformation systems within in vitro test scenarios.
