My work focuses on how agricultural management practices, climate, and soil type influence nutrient leaching from agricultural land. The methods applied include modelling and monitoring. The primary tool used is the NLeCCS modelling system.
The results consist of estimates of the baseline (normal) leaching of nitrogen and phosphorus from Swedish arable land. These estimates are used for calculating nitrogen and phosphorus losses at different spatial scales, as well as for evaluating and quantifying the mitigation potential of various agricultural management measures.
