I am a Senior Lecturer in ruminant medicine and a European specialist in reproduction (ECAR) with a focus on ruminants and herd health

Presentation

My main area of work is clinical academic veterinary medicine. In my role, I combine field-based clinical work with research and teaching. I teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a focus on subjects such as obstetrics, fertility, herd-level strategies, and sustainable production systems

Research

My research focuses on fertility and reproduction, primarily in dairy cows. I am interested in how we can work more sustainably in agriculture. Recently, I have also focused on antibiotic use in connection with artificial insemination and how we can find alternatives that reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance. I am involved in both national and international collaborations and believe it is important that research is useful – both in practice and in education

Ongoing  projects:

SLIMPACT: Sustainable livestock management addressing climate change impacts through innovative education and training

PROFARM: Advancing Precision Livestock Farming Education

Microbioma in vagina of dairy cows: Evaluating the prevalence and risk factors for antimicrobial resistance bacteria isolated from the anterior vagina of dairy cattle.

RELOOP: Empowering Farmers to Close the Loop with Regenerative Agriculture Practices through VET

An alternative to antibiotics in semen extenders – physical separation of spermatozoa from bacteria: an artificial insemination trial

Microbioma in heifer's  vagina: Assessing differences in antimicrobial resistance patterns of bacteria in the anterior vagina of dairy cows before and after artificial insemination
