Presentation
To summarise my scientific profile, it has a strong focus on the technique itself (the suitability for specific work tasks and possible technical improvements to make it more efficient), an engineering perspective, in the whole scale from small, low-productive and low-cost machines to full size, high productive and expensive machines. Within this scale of technique my perspective is on the efficiency for different kinds of forest owners (Nonindustrial private forest owners – forest companies) and for countries with different levels of labour cost and education (developing-, industrial- and countries in between). The perspective on energy has a major importance for me. It is not a goal in it self to make the forest practice to change to a more advanced technology, but it is a goal to find (and improve) the most efficient solutions, as will differ depending on the circumstances. And on all this, restrictions have to be done about the mobility on different machines, biodiversity, forest ecosystem nutrient balance, forest soils and forest ground vegetation disturbance and esthetical values.
