Presentation
The main focal point of my PhD project is linked to quantifying how much of the variation in fertility traits can be attributed to (epi)genetic factors in Arctic charr (fjällröding).
Research
My research focuses on the quantitative genetics of complex reproductive phenotypes and on the DNA methylation landscape of male gametes. I investigate the inheritance patterns underlying fertility and explore how DNA methylation, together with genomic information, contributes to the regulation of reproductive traits.
Cooperation
My supervisory team consists of: Christos Palaiokostas (main) and Martin Johnsson from SLU (Sweden), Paul Debes from Hólar University (Iceland).
My research project heavily relies on the collaboration with VBCN (Vattenbrukscentrum Norr) that hosts the national fish breeding programs.
