Presentation
I hold a Ph.D. in Physical Organic Chemistry from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, with a Diploma in Chemical Engineering (Master of Science in Engineering). Throughout my career, I have conducted research at several prominent institutions, including CNRS/Aix-Marseille University in France, Uppsala University (Ångström Laboratory and BMC), as well as serving as a visiting researcher at UBO/CNRS in Brest (France), the University of Málaga (Spain), and AstraZeneca’s research facility in Mölndal (Sweden).
My research interests span physical organic chemistry, materials science, and photochemistry, with a particular focus on the chemistry of polysaccharides and graphene. I am also engaged in the development of novel fluorophores and bioconjugation techniques. I have authored or co-authored over forty peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters.
Previously, I worked as a senior researcher in production at TdB Labs AB, a manufacturer of polysaccharide-based derivatives in Uppsala. I am currently employed at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) as a researcher, focusing on wood chemistry—specifically wood adhesives and the modification of lignocellulosic materials.
