Interbull Centre
The Interbull Centre is the operational unit of INTERBULL - a permanent subcommmittee of ICAR - and is a section of the Department of Animal Biosciences of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU).
The Interbull Centre supports the global cattle industry with accurate genetic and genomic information on bulls of the major breeds for use by importers and exporters in 35 countries, thereby facilitating selection of best genetics for different countries, environments or breeding goals.
EU Reference Centre - Zootechnics
The Interbull Centre is also the European Union Reference Centre for Zootechnics (Bovine Breeding), responsible for the scientific and technical contribution to the harmonisation and improvement of the methods of performance testing and genetic evaluation of purebred breeding animals of the bovine species (in line with EU Regulation 2016/1012; "EU Animal Breeding Regulation").
