Research
My dissertation examines how access to forest resources was regulated and transformed in the Swedish mining districts (Bergslagen) during the 17th century, a period when the expansion of mining and ironworking dramatically increased the economic value of these resources. I analyze of how private and common ownership of forests was contested and claimed by different groups, and how institutions for resource management were developed.
