Göran Ståhl is Professor of Forest Inventory at the Department of Forest Resource Management. Previously, he was Pro Vice-Chancellor for Environmental Monitoring at SLU (2008-2015) and Dean of the Faculty of Forest Sciences (2016-2021).
Research
Göran Ståhl's research focuses on methods that combine several data sources for cost-efficient forest inventory, such as data assimilation and methods that integrate field inventories and remote sensing.
Environment analysis
Chair of the Program Board of the Swedish National Forest Inventory and responsible for SLU's official statistics ("Statistikchef") within the collaboration among Swedish authorities responsible for official statistics.
