Hjalmar Stake
PhD student, Department of Forest Ecology and Management, joint staff
PhD student studying the interactions between large herbivores and biodiversity in boreal forest ecosystems.
Research
My research interests include trophic interactions, movement ecology, and biodiversity conservation. In my PhD, I study how large mammalian herbivores interact with biodiversity in the boreal forest ecosystem, focusing on habitat use of moose and reindeer, and how these dynamics vary with forest age and management. My work combines field surveys and experiments to better understand the role of large herbivores in shaping forest ecosystems.
