Research
In my doctoral thesis, I studied reactions controlling the solubility of aluminium in acidic forest soils. Later projects have dealt with binding and release of potassium at clay minerals, both in forest and agricultural soils. Other projects have involved weathering derived from base cation balances in the forest ecosystem, solubility of soil phosphorus as affected by liming, and leaching of particle-bound phosphorus from agricultural fields using traditional and spectroscopic techniques.

Environment analysis
Since 2023 I work with coordination of the environmental monitoring and assessment programme Acidification, and is responsible for the chemical parts of the Integrated Monitoring programme running since the mid 1990s in four forested watersheds in Sweden.
Teaching
My teaching includes soil chemistry, general soil science and geology at programmes in agronomy, biology, civil engineering and landscape architecture,
Educational credentials
Ultuna Student Union awarded me their pedagogic price of 2011.
