Presentation

I am an anthropologist with a master’s degree in Global Environmental History from Uppsala University. My interests focus on the relationship between humans, society, and the environment, particularly alternative and local ways of organising sustainable ways of living. In my master’s thesis, I examined permaculture as an example of how people imagine and practise ecological transition.

Research

The project aims to provide critical insights into how improvements in diet and health among older Indigenous people can form the foundation for active ageing. Elderly care for Indigenous people in India and Sweden differs significantly. In India, the nuclear family is responsible for caring for older relatives, whereas in Sweden this responsibility largely lies with public authorities. Food scarcity is the main problem among older Indigenous people in India, while the lack of culturally appropriate food is a challenge in Sweden. In both contexts, knowledge about the importance of traditional foods in elderly care is limited.
