I work at the intersection of landscape theory, critical and cultural geography, political philosophy, history of ideas, and aesthetics. I have been interested in different kinds of landscapes, peri-urban, post-industrial, and wild, both urban and non-urban, but most importantly in the ideas of and discourses surrounding these landscapes. In my research and teaching work, I’m becoming more and more interested in the methodology and epistemology of landscape design, and in thinking about the political agency of landscape design.
I have a background in Landscape Architecture. I have both a Diplom (which roughly equals a combined Bachelor and Master degree) and a doctoral degree from the Technical University of Munich (TUM, Germany) in that field. I’m also associate professor (sv. docent) in Landscape Architecture (SLU, Sweden).
