Postdoctoral Researcher, Division of Environmental Organic Chemistry and Ecotoxicology
I am postdoctoral researcher in Chemistry (Separation Chemistry, Materials, Processes). My research is focused on development of treatment train for removing organic polluants and concentrating valuable materials from water.

Presentation

I am a postdoctoral researcher in environmental and analytical chemistry at SLU’s Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment. With a background in chemical engineering, my research focuses on developing innovative treatment trains for removing organic pollutants like PFAS from water, aiming to ensure the safe reuse of water. Previously, I have worked on concentrating valuable metals and materials from surface water using membrane filtration assisted by complexation. Currently, my interest lies in water treatment and the removal of PFAS from water sources.

Research

My recent research activities include:

Developing advanced treatment trains for removing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from water by combining methods such as membrane filtration, reverse osmosis, foam fractionation, ion exchange, and electrochemical oxidation.
Investigating the sources, fate, and transport of emerging organic pollutants in the environment, including PFAS and pharmaceuticals.
Making PFAS-contaminated process water safe for reuse or release.
