Environment analysis

As part of the Biotope Monitoring group, I systematically collect and analyze habitat and plant biodiversity data at the landscape level across grasslands, wetlands, EU-protected habitats, and rights of way in Sweden. The aim of my work is to design and implement projects that track spatial and temporal changes in these landscapes.

I am involved in a range of monitoring initiatives, including:

  • Regional monitoring of landscape squares - farmland biotopes, grasslands, and wetlands (Remiil),
  • Monitoring of grassland and rock EU habitats,
  • Monitoring of natural values in power-line corridors,
  • National monitoring of farmland biotopes,
  • Monitoring of changes in pastures and meadows,
  • Regional environmental monitoring of rich fens,
  • Regional environmental monitoring of valuable trees.

I work in collaboration with the County Administrative Boards, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, and the Swedish Board of Agriculture. My activity is linked to SLU’s monitoring program of the agricultural landscape, which aims to produce data for evaluating the national environmental quality goals at regional and national level.

Educational credentials

I have a PhD in Plant Ecology and Evolution, which I defended at Uppsala University in 2021. My project goal was to better understand how populations of the same plant species can adapt to their local conditions, a phenomenon known as local adaptation.
