About the Department of Animal Environment and Health

The Department of Animal Environment and Health mainly work with farm and companion animals but also other animals including fish. The aim of the department is to increase knowledge about the relationship between housing, management, feeding, housing environment, animal health, behaviour, animal welfare, ethics and environmental hygiene. This will be achieved through research, education and research information.

The department is situated both at the campus in Skara and Ultuna campus in Uppsala, but also have staff in Gothenburg and at our research farm Götala. About 65 people are employed at the department.
