Applied practicies (internship) within educational programs

If you are taking the Natural Resources Program – Biology and Soils (Naturresursprogrammet - biologi och mark) or the BSc Program – Biology and Environmental Science (Kandidatprogrammet - biologi och miljövetenskap) at SLU you can do your internship at the Department of Aquatic Resources.
Do you want to gain experience from what may be your future career role? Then this course is for you. It is provided at any time of the year and covers in total 3.5 or 5 weeks (5 or 7.5 ECTS). You are the student who requests and suggests the place and curriculum for internship.
In case you want to gain practical experience from monitoring and analysis of fish at Aquatic Resources (SLU Aqua), you can contact our Director of Studies for basic education Örjan Östman (orjan.ostman@slu.se). Before the internship will start, an individual plan has to be passed by the course leadership and a written agreement with the internship institute must be signed.

Are there other types of internship at SLU Aqua?
We sometimes get requests for other types of internship, which we are happy for. Our possibilities are limited, but you are encouraged to e-mail a request – preferably with a CV. E-mail one of the Heads of our respective Divisions.
