Description
In April 2025 a full day joint event between CRU, VÄXA Sverige, SLU and SVA on mammary gland health and mastitis in dairy cows was held live in Uppsala but also offering the possibility to participate online. Speakers from the different organizations talked about different aspects of mastitis, from education and historical perspectives to diagnostics and treatment recommendations.
Ylva Persson from SVA and Marit Smistad from Norway gave a presentation on mastitis in small ruminant, expanding the view to different species. A particularly appreciated presentation was given by Karin Persson Waller who has been a central figure in Swedish mastitis research for more than 20 years. She talked about current and previous mastitis projects and also shared her view of the future.
According to the participants, who were mainly veterinary practitioners, it was appreciated devoting a whole day to the most common disease among dairy cows.
