Fish data hosting
We are acting on behalf of the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management as the data host for the data collected within national and regional environmental monitoring, as well as data at international level within the Data Collection Framework.
Our mission
Our mission as the data custodian is to perform delivery control, store, and make data accessible. The mission also includes generating certain data processing tasks.
Data can be used freely
The Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management (Havs- och vattenmyndigheten) and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket) finance the national environmental monitoring in Sweden and own the data that is collected. The data can be used freely.
Anyone publishing environmental monitoring data obtained from us at the Department of Aquatic Resources, or any other data custodian within environmental monitoring, is encouraged to specify the following:
- who collected the data,
- that the data was produced as part of Coordinated Swedish Environmental Monitoring.
On our Swedish site you will find an overview of program areas, sub-programs, and studies covered by this data custodian role, as well as links to processed data.
More data about water
More water data is also available at the Department of Soil and Environment, which provides data on water chemistry and pesticides from agriculture-affected areas. The monitoring of water chemistry, phytoplankton, periphyton algae, macrophytes, zooplankton, and benthic fauna is managed by the Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment at SLU.
Funding
Data collection within the DCF (Data Collection Framework) is funded 60 % by resources from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF).
