Biogas – teknik och system

Biogas is a mixture of methane and carbon dioxide, which is produced by anaerobic digestion of different biodegradable biomass sources, such as food waste and manure. At the department, we study technical and systems aspects on how biogas can be produced and used efficiently and sustainably. We also conduct research on how production of renewable methane can increase by integrating electricity-generated hydrogen and syngas from thermal gasification of woody biomass with biogas production.
