Results from life cycle assessments (LCA) of individual food products are used to inform consumers, support the development of policy instruments, and optimize dietary patterns, meals, and recipes from a sustainability perspective. The department conducts research that includes both methodological development within LCA and the generation of specific environmental data for food products. The aim is to support the transition toward more sustainable food systems through scientifically robust knowledge that can be applied in policy, industry, and the public sector.
