"I thought I would become a banker" – Anton's unexpected career change to forestry and landscape planning
During high school in Umeå, Anton studied economics with the goal of working in the finance industry. However, something changed when he participated in a UN simulation at school, where he and a classmate represented Australia on IPCC climate issues.
"It was amazing to write and push through a climate resolution. I truly felt how fun and meaningful it was to work on climate issues," says Anton.
This led him to start exploring other options, eventually landing at SLU’s Forest and Landscape program.
"My aunt, who works at SLU in Umeå, recommended the program. The combination of forestry and landscape design clicked immediately for me, and I decided to apply in the spring of 2023," Anton explains.
