30 years in the service of biodiversity
This year marks thirty years since CBM began operations. We will be celebrating this in various ways throughout the year, including a report about the 30 yeras with CBM.
Celebrate with us!
On October 1, 1995, Urban Emanuelsson started his assignement as director of the then relatively newly established unit, Swedish Biodiversity Centre (CBM) at Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. CBM was the result of a government decision based on Sweden's signing of the Convention on Biological Diversity, and a direct assignment to SLU and Uppsala University.

During these three decades with biodiversity at the center, a variety of different projects and initiatives have been implemented within the framework of CBM's mission. Some were temporary efforts while others have continued for a long time. The goal has always been to develop and be guided by the needs of society and biodiversity.
Anniversary Symposium 1/10
An afternoon in October we got to listen to different lectures about CBM then and in the future. The symposium was recorded and will be published here shortly.
Anniversary publication
In connection with the symposium on October 1, we have published an anniversary publication about CBM and its activities (only in Swedish). Read it here (link to the SLU publicaiton database).
