About the centre

Through leading research and education, the centre will collaborate with industry and public actors to develop, share, and apply knowledge and new solutions for a transition that balances economic, ecological, and social sustainability.

Four overarching focus areas

The centre has four overarching focus areas for its activities:

  1. Increased knowledge and innovation to enhance sustainability in primary production
  2. Strengthened collaboration in research and development
  3. Higher level of technology in research, education, and industry
  4. Reinforce Skåne’s contribution to the development of primary production in Sweden

Key Facts

The centre was established in 2025 at SLU in Alnarp and is jointly funded by SLU and Sparbanken Skåne, through its ownership foundation Finn. The term “sustainable” encompasses the three dimensions of economic, ecological, and social sustainability.
