Our mission
SLU Future One Health is a hub for One Health research at SLU. Our mission is to foster interdisciplinary methods and research across scientific disciplines, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to address future challenges and contribute to Sweden’s efforts in achieving the UN global goals for sustainable development (Agenda 2030). As an interactive interface between science and society, the platform contributes to developing a sustainable society, ensuring health and well-being for humans, animals, plants, and ecosystems.
Focus areas
The One Health perspective is central to our activities, addressing issues such as:
- The spread of infections and antimicrobial resistance between humans, animals, plants, and the environment.
- The development of lifestyle diseases.
- Comparative medicine.
- The importance of animals and nature for human health.
Our target group
Our primary target group consists of SLU researchers. The platform unites researchers from various disciplines, generating knowledge and science-based decision support for different societal stakeholders. We also engage with policymakers, other universities, research institutes, and authorities. Our activities are characterised by strengthening interdisciplinary research and collaboration with these stakeholders.
