Limitations with regard to usage
  • The database does not cover all sampling at regional level.
  • Samples are not collected at fixed sampling points.
  • The exact geographical location of sampling points is often missing.
  • The number and type of substances analysed varies between sampling events and years.
  • Chemical analyses were carried out by different laboratories and, among other things, detection limits, quantification limits and measurement uncertainty vary.

The regional pesticide database contains data from regional environmental monitoring of chemical pesticides. Pesticide concentrations in water from rivers, streams, lakes, seas, groundwater, wells and waterworks have been analysed by municipalities, county administrative boards and water management associations around Sweden.

The Regional Pesticide Database was created in 1996 to try and collate results from all pesticide sampling in Swedish waters. Data in the database comes from sampling carried out between 1983 and 2016.
