Derek Garfield

Derek has a background in politics and sustainable development with an interest in the politics and process of sustainability transitions. His ambition is to provide policy relevant research that will contribute to societal transitions towards sustainablity. 

Derek teaches in National and International Forest Policy within SLU's Euroforester program. He is a frequest guest within the Master's of Sustianble Development joint program at Uppsala University and SLU often with a focus on futures studies methods, systems thinking, and transitions dynamics. 

Derek is part of Trees For Me, a Centre of Excellence focused on fast-growing broadleaf trees, within the societal transitions work package.
