Eva Lindberg
Development of methods for extraction of forest information from laser scanning data and satellite images

Presentation

Senior Lecturer at the Department of Forest Resource Management (SRH); Division of Forest Remote Sensing

The main focus of my research is development of new automatic methods to derive information relevant for different aspects of vegetation analysis and mapping, in particular tree species and habitat analysis, from remotely sensed data, primarily airborne laser scanning (ALS, i.e., three-dimensional) data. This is a technical topic including sensors as well as programming and scripting for data analysis, but it also includes research about the natural processes that are related to the information of interest: the influence of canopy structure on the habitats of birds, insects, and lichens in forests, the influence of properties of trees and canopy on the occurrence of lichens as well as the structure and phenology of different tree species.

Recorded lectures/presentations
