Jennifer Anderson
Biologist focused on the evolution and ecology of aquatic fungi. Research areas include: i) evolution of complex fungal lifestyles and adaptation to new and challenging environments, ii) distribution of aquatic fungi biodiversity and complex factors driving those distributions, iii) protection and monitoring of aquatic fungi.

Research

Ongoing projects:

  • FUNACTION: Aquatic fungal biodiversity: developing knowledge and strategies to inform Conservation priorities and measures. My role: Coordinator of multinational consortium and Swedish PI. Funding: This Biodiversa+, EU cofunded, BiodivProtect project nationally funded by Formas.
  • MoSTFun: Monitoring Strategies and Tools to address knowledge gaps on aquatic Fungal biodiversity. My role: Swedish PI. Funding: This Biodiversa+, EU cofunded, BiodivMon project is nationally funded by Naturvårdsverket.
  • Investigative collaboration to find cause and effect of mysterious mass die-off of the invasive fringed water lily (Nymphoides peltata). My role: PI. Funding: This work is funded by Havs och Vatten myndigheten.
  • Understanding the multifunctional fungi that connect fields and streams. My role: PI. Funding: Formas project grant.
