Pernilla Tidåker
My research focuses on how to achieve a more sustainable food system, with particular emphasis on environmental assessment of food production systems from a life cycle perspective.

Presentation

I am a senior lecturer in Food Systems at the Department of Energy and Technology. My research interest includes life cycle assessment (LCA) applied to food production systems, indicators and tools for evaluation of environmental impact of food production systems and ecosystem services associated with agriculture and how to integrate farming and wastewater management.

Teaching

I am course leader for the course “Prospects and challenges for sustainable food systems” which is the introductory course in the master’s program “Sustainable Food Systems”.

I am also supervising master's thesis students and doctoral students.

Research

Ongoing research projects:

- Capturing multifunctional dairy production: Indicators for ecosystem services and biodiversity (SLF)

- Innovative legume-based foods and drinks for enhanced resource use efficiency in food systems (Formas)

- Digestate as a valuable fertiliser in organic farming with value added for the environment and farm finances (Formas)
