Lectures by SLU´s new honorary doctors

News published:  29/09/2025

SLU warmly welcomes everyone interested to attend the lectures held by SLU´s latest honorary doctors on Friday 3 October in Uppsala. The lectures will provide exciting insights into topics ranging from forest health to coastal landscapes. The lectures are open to the public and will be webcast.

Seven individuals have been named honorary doctors at SLU this year. Their expertise spans agriculture, aquaculture, animal oral health, tree pests, landscapes, and animal reproduction. Four are based in Sweden, and one each in Finland, South Africa, and the UK.

The popular science lectures are open to the public and will take place in the Studio (Teaching Building), Almas allé 10, SLU Uppsala, on Friday 3 October.

Outerwear and large bags must be left in the cloakroom. The studio has a limited number of seats, but the lectures are streamed to the adjacent hall. Between each lecture there will be a 10 min pause – the doors are kept closed during the lecture.

The lectures start at 8.50 and finish at 15.20. Four lectures are given in English, three in Swedish, as is evident from the lecture titles below.

If you cannot attend in person in Uppsala, the lectures will also be webcast (starts on 3 October at 8:50 am). Recorded versions of the lectures will be published after the event.

We hope to see you there!
