News published:  30/01/2026

Helena Hansson, Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics, has been elected and formally installed as a new fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry (KSLA).

At KSLA’s ceremonial assembly at Stockholm City Hall on 28 January 2026, 26 new fellows were installed into the Academy, among them Professor Helena Hansson from the Department of Economics, SLU. This is how the fellows’ role is described on the KSLA website.

The fellows are the Academy’s most important resource. Swedish or foreign citizens, who are known for outstanding insight and experience in the Academy’s area of activity, can be elected as fellows.

Helena has been elected into the Agriculture Section of KSLA in recognition of her research in Agricultural Economics and her work as Programme Director of Mistra Food Futures. Warm congratulations from the Department and SLU!
