Young voices for nature – SLU and Fältbiologerna in a new collaboration on the education of the future

News published:  26/01/2026

The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and Fältbiologerna are continuing their successful collaboration this spring with a new campaign. The aim is to show how a passion for nature can serve as a gateway to exciting academic studies and meaningful careers.

The campaign highlights students from the bachelor’s programme Forest and Landscape, focusing on their personal motivations.

Last year, SLU and Fältbiologerna carried out a similar campaign that attracted significant interest. This year, the focus shifts to personal stories and the inner motivations behind students’ choices of study.

This year’s theme takes a deeper look at students’ inner driving forces by exploring topics such as the importance of nature for mental health, climate and environmental justice, and the crucial role of forests in the future. By focusing on these personal and timely issues, the campaign aims to show how young people today can transform engagement into action and career paths.

“A lot of young people have a strong interest in nature but are not always aware of the wide range of career opportunities available within the sector. By highlighting our students’ personal motivations, we hope to inspire more people to see how their passion can develop into a meaningful and successful career,” says Tashina Alavi, responsible for the campaign at SLU.

"The collaboration with SLU is important in demonstrating the connection between engaging with nature and choosing an education that allows you to continue working with these issues. It is inspiring to hear how students’ interests have led them to the Forest and Landscape programme," says Lisa Forsberg, Campaign Manager at Fältbiologerna.

The campaign will launch in spring 2026, with content published continuously on SLU’s and Fältbiologerna’s digital platforms.
