Research
I am investigating how microbial communities respond to nutrient inputs from open-cage aquaculture in oligotrophic regulated lakes. These production systems are flow-through in nature and release nutrients that can influence water quality and reshape aquatic food webs. My research focuses on microbial responses to these inputs, as microorganisms play key roles in nutrient cycling and may serve as early indicators of environmental change. The study aims to improve understanding of the environmental impacts of open-cage aquaculture and provide a scientific basis for future management and sustainable development.
