AGRIMED C - Agriculture Management Education Towards Climate Resilience

Updated: March 2026

Short summary

AGRIMED C is a European collaborative project focused on future-proofing agriculture by strengthening competencies in health and climate management.

The project is funded by Erasmus+ and coordinated by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in collaboration with partners from Sweden (the Swedish Veterinary Agency, SVA), Belgium and Greece.

Together we work to:

  • Develop digital learning modules that integrate preventive herd health, responsible antibiotic use and climate adaptation in agriculture.
  • Promote a One Health perspective by increasing understanding of the close links between animal health, human health and the environment.
  • Reduce antimicrobial resistance (AMR) by sharing knowledge on preventive approaches, inspired in part by the successful Swedish models for low antibiotic use.
  • Digitalise learning through data-driven tools and micro-credentials that make education more flexible and aligned with labour market needs.

Why is AGRIMED C needed?

European agriculture is facing major challenges due to rapid climate change, including extreme weather events and new patterns of disease spread. At the same time, antimicrobial resistance poses a growing threat to both animals and humans.

Current education often focuses on treating individual animals once they have already become ill. AGRIMED C aims to change this by shifting the focus towards preventive measures at herd level and practical climate adaptation in agriculture.

By equipping farmers, veterinarians and other professionals with the right knowledge and skills, the project contributes to a more sustainable and resilient food system capable of meeting the climate challenges of the future.
