Short summary
Over a period of two years, a new concept for business analysis called Företagslyft Lantbruk – nöt & lamm (Business Boost Agriculture – Beef & Lamb) will be tested, evaluated, and improved in a pilot-project involving collaboration between farmers, advisors, and researchers.
Why Business Boost Agriculture?
Business Boost Agriculture was developed in collaboration between farmers, advisors, and researchers because we felt that there was a need for a method that 1) took a holistic approach to what it means to be an entrepreneur and 2) supported small agricultural entrepreneurs who want to implement changes and develop their businesses.
Aim
The aim is to continuously evaluate and improve the material in Business Boost Agriculture during the project period to make it even better suited to the target group.
The project is being carried out with three groups of agricultural entrepreneurs with suckler cows, beef- or lamb production, each of which is being coached by its own advisor.
What is Business Boost Agriculture?
The tool consists of seven modules, which, through knowledge and various reflection exercises, give participants insights into how they can improve their businesses by reducing waste and working smarter and more efficiently, instead of faster and harder. They also get to take a closer look at their company's finances and reflect on their goals and work situation. Through Business Boost Agriculture, participants are given tools to identify their company's potential for improvement and can take small steps towards a long-term sustainable business.
The material in Business Boost Agriculture is web-based and divided into seven modules with different themes, which are discussed and followed up at regular meetings with a group of colleagues. Participants work with the material in the modules on their own before each meeting, so that the meeting on the farm can focus on discussion and knowledge exchange between colleagues.
Business Boost Agriculture is based on the proven Lean working method and the Strategic Business Management course developed by Ove Karlsson at the Competence Center for Business Management (SLU).
