Short summary

Working towards the conservation of aquatic fungi

Aquatic fungi (AF) ensure the health, function, and resilience of freshwater and estuarine ecosystems. Yet, their biodiversity is largely overlooked and unknown and they are completely absent from all major conservation plans.

In FUNACTION, we are building knowledge about taxonomic, phylogenetic and functional diversity to develop aquatic fungi-aware strategies for conservation.
