Short summary
The project is about creating opportunities for women to take the lead and find new solutions to environmental and social challenges – while at the same time strengthening rural resilience and faith in the future.
GRASS Ceiling is about helping more women lead the way in creating smart, sustainable solutions for farming, local businesses, and life in rural communities. This can mean everything from eco-tourism and organic cheese production to community gardens, energy-efficient village halls, and new ways of caring for the elderly.
Innovation like this is still growing in rural Europe—and we want to make sure women get the support they need to fully take part. In GRASS Ceiling, we work together with women innovators, local communities, researchers, and organizations that can help shape EU policies for a fairer, greener rural future.
Across Europe, nine Living Labs—practical, women-led workshops and spaces for new ideas—are being set up in different countries. These Living Labs will test new approaches, share knowledge, and develop useful tools so that more women can succeed with their ideas and help build thriving, sustainable rural areas.
