Short summary
This Interreg Aurora Project (2024-2027) aims to enhance circular economy in the northern region through utilising industrial by-products to produce greener absorbents for wastewater treatment. The research investigates the production of carbon-based and inorganic adsorbents from recycled wastes using slow pyrolysis and activation processes. A major focus of the research is on minimising the environmental impact of adsorbent production itself while maximising effectiveness in treatment of wastewater in northern municipalities and the mining industry.
