Application to doctoral education
Vacant doctoral positions are advertised on an ongoing basis. The advertisement for each position includes information such as the eligibility requirements for admission, details about the project and the doctoral programme, as well as contact persons for enquiries.
Attachments to the application
Submit your application via the button in the advertisement. The digital application form includes space for attaching supplementary documents.
You only need to submit attested copies of your documents if you are invited to an interview. You will need to include copies of your diplomas and transcripts (and passport if relevant, se below) with your application. If you are invited to an interview, you will receive instructions on how to provide proof of your copies. Please note that the procedures differ depending on whether your degree was awarded in Sweden or abroad. Read more on How can I become a doctoral student?
Your application must include the following (in PDF format):
- A cover letter, in which you describe the reasons why you are applying for the position, your research interests and relevant skills.
- Your CV.
- Copies of your degree certificate(s) and a transcript of records from previous university studies.
- A copy of your second cycle (Master’s) degree project, worth a minimum of 15 credits, or equivalent independent project.
- Documents confirming you meet the English language requirements of Engelska B/6 or the equivalent. Please note that you don't need to submit this information, if you completed your upper-secondary studies in Sweden, or have been awarded a Master’s degree from a Swedish higher education institution.
- The contact details of two references, such as teachers, supervisors or a former manager.
- A copy of passport if you have another citizenship than Swedish.
