Student unions
At SLU there are seven different student unions, and students can join one union depending on the programme they are enrolled in. The unions are founded by students, are run by students and are there for the students.
The unions have a number of associations and committees. Amateur comedy theatre, “fika” evenings, sports associations, hunting clubs, environmental committees, dinners and choirs are only some of the activities on offer. Nothing is impossible, the members decide what activities their union should engage in.

The Joint Committee of Student Unions (Sluss)
Sluss is the collaborative body for the student unions at SLU. Sluss primary tasks are to collect the student’s views and make them known at the university’s very highest level. Sluss’ second task is to promote collaboration between the unions.
Join a union
Union membership gives you the opportunity to influence the important work that your union is doing. It also gives you access to a broad spectrum of social activities such as events, parties and various students' societies.
Students have the right to influence the education at their university. Universities must endeavour to enable students to play an active role in the continued development of courses and programmes. Students also have the right to be represented when decisions or preparations are made that are relevant to their education or the students' situation.
