About us

Plant Biology is part of BioCenter, a modern research facility on the Ultuna campus in Uppsala. The department is home to nearly 100 researchers, postdoctoral fellows, doctoral students, and technical and administrative staff.

Research

The Department of Plant Biology is at the forefront of innovative research on plants and their interactions with the environment. Our work bridges fundamental science and practical applications, with the aim of advancing sustainable agriculture and forestry in a rapidly changing world.

Education

We offer world-class education in plant sciences and organizes and teaches a wide range of basic and advanced biology courses at both undergraduate and PhD levels within SLU's educational programs.
