Alessandro Orio

I have started my PhD in 2014 in the BONUS INSPIRE (Integrating spatial processes into ecosystem models for sustainable utilization of fish resources) project. My main focus is on the spatio-temporal dynamics of cod and flounder in the Baltic Sea.

I am also involved since 2013 in the work of the Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries (STECF), especially in the working group of stock assessment in the Mediterranean Sea.

Master's Degree in Marine Science with 110 out of 110 cum laude at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” (Rome, Italy ) in 2012. Thesis: “Analysis of the fish assemblages in the MPA of Ventotene and Santo Stefano (Italy) using the methodology of Underwater Visual Census”.

Bachelor's Degree in Natural Science with 110 out of 110 cum laude at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” (Rome, Italy ) in 2009. Thesis: “Abundance fluctuations of juvenile hake: effect of environmental and biological factors”.
