Anna Persson works as a Lecturer within the field of spatial planning and urban design. She has around 20 years of experience within the fields of spatial planning and political negotiations and teaches all-level-students at the SLU. She has worked for several Swedish municipalities, for the state as well as for private consultancy companies including her own (for the last 10 years). Anna has worked with all different phases associated with legally-bound zoning (in Sweden called Detaljplanering/DP) and comprehensive planning (in Sweden referred to as: Översiktsplanering/ÖP, Fördjupning av Översiktsplan/FÖP and Tillägg till Översiktsplan/TÖP).
On behalf of around 20 different municipalities she has been a project manager for both large and small plan- and building projects and she has created a great deal of planning documents from scratch, including maps with regulations, planning descriptions and environmental impact assessment documents. Anna has also assessed a large amount of planning and infrastructure documents while working for the Swedish state (Länsstyrelsen i Skåne län) making sure that the municipalities followed the Plan- and building act and other associated legislation. For the state she has also had an expert roll concerning security questions, planning for wind-turbines and handling large harbors of national interests.
She has had an expert roll working as a senior advisor and the chief of the planning division of Östhammar municipality where she amongst other things was actively involved in the making of zoning plans for the nuclear power plant Forsmark and for the coming repository for radio-active waste, planned below ground.
Anna also has international working experiences and her teaching activities at the SLU therefor take place in several languages such as Swedish, English, Dutch and German. Her next challenge is to improve her skills in Arabic.
