Analytical expertise

This work focuses on developing methods to analyze relevant chemical pesticides and degradation products at concentrations that may cause biological effects.

Environmental monitoring

CKB’s work complements the ongoing environmental monitoring funded by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency through projects aimed at improving the understanding and interpretation of data, as well as targeted efforts to develop new methods or strengthen quality assurance.

Biological effects

Biological effects are studied in the field in typical Swedish agricultural watercourses. Together with laboratory studies, the results are used to develop the basis for biological assessment criteria.

Risk assessment tools

We further develop and maintain customized decision-support tools for authorities responsible for reducing the impact of chemical pesticides on the aquatic environment in Sweden.

We work to increase the understanding of the various pathways through which chemical pesticides reach the aquatic environment, in order to develop models and assess which mitigation measures are most effective.
