SLU Landscape Days

SLU Landscape Days take place once a year in October, every other year in Alnarp/Ultuna. This year, the Landscape Days will be held in Ultuna. Registration is now closed.

These events provide an opportunity to meet colleagues working in the landscape field at both Alnarp and Ultuna. A rich program is offered with invited keynote speakers, seminars, employee-initiated workshops and presentations on various topics related to landscape education and research.

14:05- 14:25 Beyond the City: Saving the world with Geodesign Elliot Hartley, Garsdale Design UK 

14:30- 14:55 Panel discussion: How are emerging digital technologies shaping future landscape practice and education?  Paul Cureton, Elliot Hartley, Neil Sang (SLU), John Hellman, (landscape architect,  Swedish Board for housing, building and planning (Boverket)), Emilia Molin (landscape architect, Land Arkitektur). Moderator: TBC 

Paul Cureton is a Senior Lecturer in Design at Imagination Lancaster, and a member of the Data Science Institute (DSI). His work focuses on spatial planning, 3D GIS modelling, and design futures. He is at the forefront of exploring the critical interface between new and emerging socio-technological relationships, such as Design for Digital Twins, Drone Futures, and innovative process-based methodologies for Future Environments like Geodesign. 

Elliot Hartley is a 3D GIS, digital twin and development planning professional. He is also an internationally recognised 3D geodesign expert. He is also a pioneer and an instructor in the use of Esri’s ArcGIS CityEngine for 3D city modelling and urban planning projects. He has consulted for and trained teams in some of the world’s leading planning and architectural consultancies in Europe, North America, and the Middle East. In addition, he has also provided training and services for local government/city authorities in Europe, North America, and the Middle East.

15:30–17:30 Workshops are primarily hosted by the SLU Landscape Forums.

After lunch there is the opportunity to join Ultuna Landskapsdag (starting with a keynote speaker, followed by presentations from our colleagues at SOL and landscape actors from the industry, mingle with the students and join the afterwork) 13-17
