Crops for the Future (C4F)

Our primary goal is to develop sustainable novel plant-based products using modern technologies. This work contributes to the advancement of a circular bioeconomy in Sweden. Crops for the Future (C4F) is part of the government-funded strategic research area Trees and Crops for the Future (TC4F) launched in 2010.

  • C4F develops bio-based raw materials and products.
  • We are part of a large research network of national and international contacts.
  • A circular bioeconomy is the sustainable model we believe in for the future of our planet and humanity.

Results

Climate change, global growing population and depletion of global natural resources make it clear that sustainable production of raw materials for feed, food and industrial purposes is more urgent than ever.

Projektledare

The research is conducted in various research groups with a total of more than 30 researchers working within SLU in Alnarp and Uppsala. C4F stimulates the involvement of young researchers, postdoc and doctoral students as well as Master thesis work within its research areas.
